The Care and Well-being of Dogs
When I found out my dog, Rocky was having hip and leg problems at age one, I knew we needed to do something to help him. It is unusual for a dog of this age to need glucosamine. For some reason, it happened to my dog so I decided to try K9 Glucosamine and Chondroitin for dogs made by Liquid Health. I liked the fact that it is made in the USA and uses quality ingredients. It is also recommended for use with all breeds of all sizes.
Glucosamine provides the building blocks for healthy connective tissues in the body. It is derived from shellfish. It maintains bone and cartilage health and nourishes the joints of dogs to guarantee proper movement during their developmental years.
Chondroitin is an important structural component of cartilage. It is used for its combining properties in maintaining joint flexibility when used with correct amounts of glucosamine. It reduces pain and inflammation and improves joint function.
They have added Hyaluronic Acid to its formula which makes it even better! The HA formula they added is the primary constituent of synovial fluid, which is joint lubricant found in all joints. They use very high quality ingredients which made me feel at ease.
For younger dogs, glucosamine and chondroitin absorb easily in the body and a compound of protein that is heavily glycosylated helps sustain the health and flexibility of joints and connective tissues.
This glucosamine is very safe for dogs. There are very few, if any side effects in this glucosamine. It is very digestible and will not cause indigestion or nausea. I do recommend giving it to your dog during or after eating to be sure it does not cause any stomach upset. It is always best to check with your vet before starting your dog on any new supplement.
Since my dog Rocky, a collie, was only one year old and having leg and hip problems, the vet checked him. They said there was nothing wrong with him other than the fact he had this problem. So I got a recommendation to try this liquid supplement. After a few days of giving him the supplement, he was like a new dog! It was at though he never had any problems. He was dribbling his ball around the yard, catching frisbees and chasing his remote control cars which he loved to do. He was a very active dog. I can’t tell you how ecstatic I was to see him back to his normal self again!
One weekend when I ran out of the glucosamine, he skipped a couple of days of taking it. I noticed the difference in him immediately. He was having trouble walking comfortably and I could tell he was not in tip-top shape. Once I got more, I gave him a dose and just like that, overnight, he was perfect again! I told myself I would never be without it again. It costs around $23 for 32 oz and is so worth it to see your dog happy and comfortable!
I also gave the some to my other dog when she was about one or two years old just at a preventative. I looked at it as a long term investment for her joint care. Not wanting to take any chances with her since Rocky had problems and they are the same breed, I felt it a good idea to start her early. Besides, it is a good supplement for overall health and mobility. I figured since she was young, this would delay the onset of arthritis.
It helped Rocky for years and at he got older he needed a little more help. I noticed he wasn’t jumping and running like he used to even though he still loved to play. He was a bit more apprehensive about it. I then decided to switch him to Liquid Health K9 Level 5000 Glucosamine. It is a stronger and more powerful version than the original one. This one is about $40 for 32 oz. The Level 5000 is recommended for larger dogs. It does contain a remarkable amount of Glucosamine, Chondroitin and Opti-MSM and other ingredients to increase its effectiveness. It comes in a beef flavor My dog loves the flavor! I used to soak a piece of bread in the glucosamine and he would eat it up. Later on, I switched to putting it on his breakfast and dinner nuggets. He loved it that way too.
This glucosamine offers nice benefits. What I like about it is the following:
My pet’s health and happiness is so important to me that I would try anything to help them. When I researched that Liquid Health products are produced under stringent guidelines, meaning all products have to pass a strict set of criterion and is tested by quality control, I felt at ease providing my dog with this supplement. It was really unbelievable how well this product worked. It’s easy administer and it stores in the refrigerator once opened.
My dog was very active so seeing him in pain was heartbreaking. I wanted to see results right away and I think most people feel the same. This product usually takes about 10 days to 3 weeks to work. It worked well for my dog after a few days; however, it may take a little longer for an older dog to see results. It could be one to two months depending on their situation.
If you have a dog with leg, hip or joint problems, I would give this glucosamine a try. If you are especially worried about keeping your dog mobile at she ages, then that is another good reason to start a glucosamine supplement sooner rather than later. You want your dog to be at comfortable at possible and if using the right product helps, that is a major step in the right direction.
Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns or something you want to share. I would be more than happy to hear from you.
